So, Newsmax is sending their people to some fancy-pants conference in New York. Good for them. Meanwhile, back in reality, they're still grappling with the fallout from Tucker Carlson's little love-in with Nick Fuentes. Give me a break.
Kevin Roberts from the Heritage Foundation is out there defending Carlson's right to platform Fuentes, hiding behind the "free speech" banner. Oh, please. As if "free speech" means you're obligated to give a megaphone to every bigot with a microphone. It's a convenient excuse, ain't it?
Santorum, bless his heart, seems to think the problem is just "platforming" Fuentes. Missed it a little bit? The guy was spewing straight-up antisemitic garbage! Schmitt even spelled it out: Fuentes thinks "organized Jewry" is the big problem with America. And neoconservatism? Just a "Jewish-dominated phenomenon." But sure, let's just call it "platforming."
Are we really this dense? Or are they just hoping their audience is?
Forbes calls Newsmax "a news powerhouse." Reuters Institute says they're a "top U.S. news brand." Seriously? A powerhouse of what? Misinformation? A brand of… well, let's not get libelous. They reach 40 million Americans, have 20 million social media followers. That's not something to brag about, that's terrifying. That's 40 million people being fed this crap.

And they're on the NYSE now, ticker NMAX. Capitalism, baby! Doesn't matter what you sell, as long as you're selling it. What's next, Proud Boys-branded NFTs?
I wonder if Ruddy will bring up the Fuentes thing at the RBC conference? Nah, offcourse not. He'll probably talk about "growth opportunities" and "synergies." Newsmax to Attend the RBC Capital Markets Global Technology, Internet, Media & Telecommunications Conference - Kansas City Star
The "conservatives split" line is interesting. Is there really a split, or is it just a few people with a shred of decency left trying to distance themselves from the sewer?
I mean, come on, how far are we willing to bend before we break? How much blatant hate speech do we have to tolerate before someone finally says, "Enough"? This isn't some abstract philosophical debate; this is real-world poison seeping into the minds of millions.
It's not about "free speech" anymore. It's about normalizing the unthinkable. It's about seeing how far they can push the envelope before someone pushes back. And honestly... I'm starting to think there's no envelope left.
